The largest gland in our body is the liver. It does so much for us such as detoxifying the blood, storing vitamins, breaks down old blood cells, and breaks down fat & produces energy. When we eat too much processed foods, the liver overworks and can’t function at its best.
Here are six ingredients that are in the salad and what they do for the liver:
dandelion greens and kale: high in chlorophyll and soak up toxins from the blood stream and neutralizes heavy metals, chemicals, and pesticides.
apple: high in pectin which remove food additives form the blood stream
tahini dressing: this dressing is filled with liver detoxifying foods such as garlic and turmeric that are both filled with sulphur that activate liver enzymes to help your body get rid of toxins, olive oil that provides the body with a liquid base that soaks up harmful toxins, and tahini which has components that protect the liver cells.
zucchini: the fiber found in zucchini lowers cholesterol by attaching itself to the bile acid that the liver makes from cholesterol for digesting fats!
I did lots of research and came up with this delicious cleansing salad for optimal liver health! I am obviously not a doctor or nutritionist, just a 16 year old who’s passionate about yummy ways to eat healthy. Thanks and enjoy!

- massaged kale
- dandelion greens
- my tahini dressing
- spiralized zucchini
- 1 small apple
- 4 baby carrots
- chop apple and carrots.
- Combine all ingredients in a salad mixing bowl and serve!
