What Worship Means To Me | 2017

I think the biggest thing I learned in 2017 was how intimate and deep worship truly is. It’s not just singing songs off of a lyric screen, it’s a time to praise the Creator of the universe. The One who formed me in my mother’s womb, who knows every hair on my head, the One who died on the cross for my sins and redefined my future. It’s a time I get to pray and ask Him to search my heart and lead me in His way. I love the feeling of knowing the Holy Spirit is present through the goosebumps that spread on my arms and the inner peace no words are capable of describing. Even if no goosebumps are present and I’m an anxious mess, before I speak a word, He is singing over me. He listens to every prayer asked in the name of Jesus! Seek Him and He will reveal Himself to you! Below I’m putting a few of my favorite verses about prayer and worship to encourage you to deepen your worship time as more than simply singing lyrics on the screen. Happy New Year!

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the Lord. The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant,

And their faces will never be ashamed.” Psalm 34:1-5

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.” Psalm 95:6-7

“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

“Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises” James 5:13

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” Psalm 103:1-5

“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.” Psalm 91:15-16
